This week, we had the opportunity to speak with members of the Medford Rotary about the realities of health care today, the challenges facing hospitals and health systems across Oregon and the nation, and the work Asante is doing to increase access and advocate for our patients, caregivers and communities.
Health care is at a pivotal moment. Providers are navigating change and challenge, and uncertainty around state and federal policies that will shape the future of care delivery. These challenges are not unique to any one organization. They are impacting health systems, providers and communities throughout Oregon and beyond.
During our conversation, we discussed how these broader issues affect southern Oregon and the steps Asante is taking to ensure we can continue meeting the needs of the region for years to come. We also shared several of our legislative priorities, including efforts to protect Oregon’s safety net, access to care, reduce regulatory burden and create a more sustainable health care system for the patients and communities we serve.
One of the most valuable parts of the discussion was the open dialogue and questions. Rotary members asked thoughtful questions about a variety of topics. These questions created an opportunity for discussion, deeper understanding and meaningful conversation about issues that matter to our community.
We appreciated the willingness of attendees to engage directly, ask difficult questions and seek facts and context. We remain committed to participating in these conversations, answering questions and providing information that helps people better understand change and the complex health care environment we are all navigating.
Thank you to Medford Rotary for the invitation, the thoughtful discussion and the opportunity to connect with community leaders. We look forward to continuing these important conversations across all of the communities we serve.
Asante will continue engaging with policymakers, partners and community members on health care policy changes at the federal, state and local levels.
