Last week kicked off the first ever Showcase of Southern Oregon! The Showcase was an opportunity for lawmakers across Oregon to travel to Oregon and experience everything that our region has to offer. The inaugural event was facilitated by The Chamber of Medford & Jackson County.
Asante was honored to have the opportunity to provide background on our organization’s deep history and role within the local community, as well as provide a view of the Rogue Valley from the roof of our flagship facility and a reception in the Olsrud Women’s and Children’s Hospital lobby located in the pavilion at Rogue Regional Medical Center. Guests had an opportunity to try local wines and chocolates, while socializing with leaders from the local community.
The event also showcased great southern Oregon businesses, including Rogue Jet Boat Adventures, Harry & David, Rogue X and NIC Industries. Lawmakers also toured Rogue Community College’s Health Professions Center and had an opportunity to attend a reception at The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon.
Thursday night ended with a tour and dinner at the recently restored Holly Theater, and Friday morning concluded with a presentation from the Oregon Conservation Corps.
The event was a huge success, and we want to give a huge thanks to Representatives Emily McIntire, Pam Marsh and Kim Wallan, as well as Senator Jeff Golden and the entire planning committee, who put in so much effort to make this event a success.
